“NEOISM: SMILE: THE EGGS IN THE GAUNTLET-ULTERIORISM………..”
This is the 1st step in providing a public Neoist audio Archive rooted in my own personal collection. I decided to start here because this tape exemplifies some of the things I most clearly associate with neoism: the use of the name “Monty Cantsin”, general identity confusion, internationalism manifested by speaking in multiple languages, complex mind game humor, electro-pop music, etc.. In particular, I chose this because of the “Monty Cantsin Psychoanalytic Encounter Group w/ Charles Boyd (MD)” track.
While the tape was a collaboration, it was primarily assembled by an 18 year old Colby College student herein named “Monty Cantsin” probably in the fall of 1985. The following is the track listing on the original tape with some spelling errors corrected.
SIDE THIS:
01. “Akademgorod” - White Colors
02. “Interview with Monty Cantsin by Charles Boyd” (Music by White Colors)
03. "((Four/Four)-one)+1” - White Colors
04. “Abba’s Tribute to TG” - White Colors
05. “Interview with Monty Cantsin at the piano by Charles Boyd” (Music by White Colors)
06. “Viet-Nam” - White Colors
07. “Interview with Monty Cantsin by Charles Boyd with readings from “Smile: A History of White Colors””
SIDE THAT:
08. “Monty Cantsin Psychoanalytic Encounter Group w/ Charles Boyd (MD)” (Music-White Colors)
